Castletownshend is an unspoilt seaside village that once was the home of wealthy merchants and landowners. The author Edit Somerville, of Somerville & Ross fame, made her home here. The old houses remain but today they are home to Gourmet Restaurants & Quaint village pubs.

Ashgrove was completed in 2006 and is equipped to the highest standard, It offers the convenience of modern living, close to the charm of the 19th Century Village. The Living Room is decorated to a contemporary design, complete with polished porcelain floor, leather suites, Satellite TV & DVD. To the rear is a compact courtyard garden offering a secluded sunbathing & Barbecue area

Ashgrove has four large bedrooms & comfortably sleeps 8.
On the first floor is a Master Double Bedroom, Twin Bedroom with en-suite, and the Main Bathroom.
The Second floor has another Double Bedroom, a 2nd Twin Bedroom, and a shower room serving the two bedrooms.

Located in an an old Walled Garden. Ashgrove self-catering is part of ‘a small enclosed complex, known as The Lawn. It overlooks a common Green Area which makes a safe play area for young children .There are uninterrupted views of Castlehaven Harbour, St Barahanes church and the 16th Century Castle at Reen in the distance.

The Village is a two minute walk and offers: Children’s playground, & Tennis Courts, The award winning Mary Ann’s Restaurant, Two Pubs, Art Gallery. Water sports such as Fishing, Sailing, & Kayaking, can all be arranged locally. Nearby are numerous scenic walks while the beaches of Sandycove, The Warren, & Tragumna are all close by.
